When your HOA or anyone says they are taking steps to reduce water, question it. Plants need what plants need. If they don't get enough they die or get sick. You must know how many gallons each plant needs including the grass and trees. If you don't know you don't know if your over watering or under watering.
Pulling out grass and putting in other plants may in fact increase your water usage not decrease it. Changing from bubblers to drip doesn't reduce the amount of water the plant needs. If you have 10 plants that need 5 gallons of water a week in total and your giving them exactly that. Installing a drip system will still apply 5 gallons a week unless you increase or decrease it. 5 Gallons is still and forever will be 5 gallons.
Be green but be smart about it.
A place where Arizona HOA board members & owners can voice opinions, solutions, recommendations, & seek advice on anything HOA related. Your voice is a powerful tool. You only hurt yourself by not using it. With no system of checks & balances within HOA Boards, pointing out how thier actions effect us is the only way to fix it.
