Where Does It Go?

When boards decide to remove things from the landscaping that created depth and interest like decorative brick work.  Where does it go?

Virtually everything including bricks can be recycled, cleaned and reused, or made into something else that is useful and vendors know this.   The vendor who removes the item or items does one of several things; he may keep it for himself, give it to a friend who may use it or sell it, sell it to another community or homeowner, give it away, break it up and use it for another purpose, or trash it.  They profit three different ways from one project; by charging to haul off the items, sell the items removed, and the project itself!  And the board let's them.

Boards need to keep in mind that every homeowner in the community paid for those items.  The items aren't the boards to give away or to throw away.  It is the community's as a whole who can decide what to do with them.  They can decide to offer it to the owners and those who want it can bid on them.  Or the community can decided to just give it to one of the owners.  If it is auctioned off to those owners who want it, the money collected goes into the general fund to offset the cost of the project.

It's not like the vendor gives a discounted price when they plan to sell the items removed do not give discounts when they remove items from jobs that are in working order or can be recycled.  They charge you to haul them off then turn around and make money by selling it or recycling it.

Anything removed from the community that is in working order or can be recycled needs to be done by the community not the vendor.  It's in the best interest of the community.
